I must say this gliph is beautifull, intrincate, creative and very artistic, the details really grabs my attention and the fading on the top brings the idea of a strong light shining above.
the simbol itself loohs very arcane and these floral patterns are really somethong vintage and kinda art-nouveau with these losangular arrows pointing to the 8 directions is a very resourcefull design that makes me wonder the real nature of such simbolic rune.
I'd also recomend a simbol in the middle, a centerpoint with maybe a simple rune, or maybe make different colored versions of this simbol with differnet runes for each color, like if representing each of the elements (red for fire, blue for water, you know...)
You know, that gives me an idea. What you could so is have a point system for that as the player kills mobs, they receive points for that system (based on the difficulty of the mob). Then, maybe they could use those points towards a study (in 2 or 4 major / minor fields of their choice to add to their character such as agility, endurance, strength, skill, etc). From there, maybe they can be given options on what to study, like the talent system in WoW (if you have to compare it to something). Maybe special items or events can increase your points as well. Idk, just a thought. You wouldn't use a glyph like that though. It would have to be designed differently and added to the main window.
beautifully delicate work wolfie. i love how the flair of it all has the wood carving style etching. i can really see that in your styling. if that is the base concept though, maybe consider rounding the tips of the background design? it seems that it contradicts the carving style of the overlaying design a little.
sorry i can't offer any better of a critique that that. my lack of knowledge about the source style makes me reluctant to put my foot in my mouth. ^///////////^
